IB College Recognition Guide
On this site, you can find information about colleges with special International Baccalaureate (IB) recognition policies and get ideas for presenting the IB student in the university application process. Visit ibo.org official website.
The most common IB recognition policies are:
• Recruitment and admission —actively recruiting IB Diploma students
• Placement in higher level courses based on recognition of IB course work
• Credit - based on IB examination scores; specifically recognizing theory of knowledge (TOK), the extended essay and the content of standard level (SL) and higher level (HL) courses
• Scholarships - providing scholarships or scholarship opportunities specifically for IB Diploma students.
WUE (Western Undergraduate Exchange) - visit their official website
IB college recognition information is cross-referenced here with information about colleges participating in the WUE program.
Students who are residents of WUE states may enroll at participating college programs outside of their home state at a reduced tuition rate (usually no higher than 150% of the resident tuition rate). WUE colleges are located in the following states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming.
For most colleges, the approximate annual cost of attendance is provided as well (including WUE discount if applicable). This information is based on figures taken from the websites of the corresponding colleges for 2008-09 school year. It is only approximate and subject to change. Links to the source webpages are provided as well. For exact financial figures, always contact the college and/or its most current website page or catalog.
